Welcome.
I have created this space with the intention of sharing insights, thoughts, resources, research, and other information related to the work I do as a psychologist and a therapist. My hope is that this blog will also provide a way to connect with other professionals and individuals around salient and important issues of mental health and wellness.
My work as a psychologist focuses on mindfulness and compassionate self-acceptance, particularly as it relates to living with anxiety, depression, attention and learning difficulties, & grief and loss. I am also involved in teaching future psychologists and clinicians so I imagine topics of higher education and professional identity will find their way onto this blog as well.
I consider myself an eternal student and take great pride and value in learning new things that have the potential to help guide my work, my practice, and my personal health and wellness. Understanding culture and its impact on both individuals and groups is something I pay close attention to in both my personal and professional life. Humans are complex, with deep layers and levels of personal story and experience that contribute to identity and our relationships with those around us. To be human is to connect with others. We often come to understand ourselves more clearly and fully through these connections. In that vein, I hope that you find this space to be a place where you can connect with thoughts, ideas, information, and experiences as you navigate through all the uncertainty, joy, challenge, and beauty that life has to offer. I welcome your comments, feedback, and suggestions related to what you see here and thank you for visiting!
